Abbotsford Police Department have released information on Cst. John Davidson’s Celebration of Life. Davidson was killed in the line of duty on Nov. 6. The 53-year-old had been a police officer for 24 years in Canada and the U.K.
An online fundraiser set up for his family has already raised more than $150,000 and a petition looking to rename Automall Drive in Davidson’s honour needs another thousand signatures to reach its goal.

As we prepare for the Celebration of Life for our fallen officer, Cst. John Davidson, we are updating our community with procession routes, road closures and how to access the Ceremony on television and the internet.
The procession of uniformed law enforcement and emergency service personnel will be starting at approximately 11:30 am at 2369 McCallum Road. Attached is the funeral procession route. The procession will march south on McCallum Road and proceed east on King Road to the Abbotsford Center located at 33800 King Road. A map of road closures is attached, and updated closures can be found at the City of Abbotsford website.
The Celebration of Life Ceremony will begin at 1 p.m.
For those attending who would like a guaranteed seat, it is encouraged that you find a seat at an overflow location. There will be two overflow seating areas:
– The University of the Fraser Valley – Envision Athletic Centre, 1395 McKenzie Rd. Doors will be open for the public at 11:00 am.
