What did you do yesterday on the longest day of the year? While you were working, or going for a stroll or maybe having a beer (or two) to celebrate summer, a group of insanely fit people were doing the Grouse Grind–over and over and over again from dawn to dusk at the Suunoto Multi Grouse Grind Challenge
And a new record of was set. Grindmaster Ian Robertson completed a whopping 17 Grouse Grinds during 19 hours, beating his previous record of 16 Grouse Grinds in one day set last year. The picture here is Ian completing his 8th grind. He did that by 1pm!
This year’s top female finisher was Vancouver’s Andrea Johb who completed 14 Grouse Grinds during the event.
In total 45 grinders hiked a collective 434 Grouse Grinds in a one-day. And even better, together they raised $22,000 in support of the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. This brings the Grind For Kids total amount raised to $1 million since the program began in 2010!
Congrats everyone who participated. Now go have a nap.
