
A slight uptick in COVID-19 cases in the Kamloops Local Health Area (LHA), according to the latest data from the BC Centre for Disease Control.
There were 56 new cases during the week of March 14 and 20, an increase of 14 cases from the 42 reported the previous week.
The Kamloops LHA includes the City of Kamloops as well as Barriere, Sun Peaks, Little Fort, Chase, Tobiano, Savona, and Logan Lake.
There were also six new cases in the Merritt local health area down from 15 the week before. Leading the way in Interior Health was the Kelowna area with 70 new cases, down from 88, while there were seven new cases in the Salmon Arm area, down from nine.
There were also three new cases in the South Cariboo, two cases in the Cariboo-Chilcotin, and no new cases in the North Thompson, 100 Mile, and Lillooet local health areas.
The greatest spread per capita last week was in Surrey, Howe Sound (Whistler area), Peace River South, Bella Coola, Kitimat, and Prince Rupert.
