The Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival runs from November 11th to November 14th this year.
Kicking off with a Red Carpet Gala and Opening Film Mehrunisa, featuring 70 films and ending with the closing night feature Emergence: Out Of The Shadows.
At VISAFF, films are not only used as a means to entertain, but to raise awareness about important contemporary issues in our society. The goal is to bring together bright minds to give talks that are idea-focused, to foster learning, inspiration and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter.
I had the chance to speak with Festival Producer Manna Sandhu about some of the films and the goals about Visaff and also spoke with Alex Sangha about his film, which I am looking forward to watching.
