There have been COVID-19 exposures reported at five schools in Kamloops with exposure dates last week.
Exposures have been reported at Arthur Stevenson Elementary, South Kamloops Secondary, and Valleyview Secondary on three days last week, Feb. 22, 23, and 24.
There were also exposures reported at Kay Bingham Elementary and the Kamloops School of the Arts on Feb. 23 and 24.
As has been the policy, school officials say if parents haven’t been contacted by public health teams, their kids are not at risk of developing COVID-19. If you have questions or concerns about COVID-19, you’re also asked to contact 811.
There are now eight Kamloops schools with an active exposure with active exposures also at Sa-Hali Secondary School (Feb. 16), Beattie Elementary (Feb.17 and 18), and NorKam Secondary (Feb. 18 and 19).
A COVID-19 exposure on Feb. 24 was also reported at Merritt Secondary School, adding to an active exposure at Collettville Elementary in Merritt, with that particular exposure happening on Feb. 18.
After 14 days without any further cases, exposures are no longer considered active by Interior Health.
