
There was a significant drop in confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Kamloops Local Health Area, with 78 new cases reported between the week of Feb. 14 and Feb. 20.
That is down from 116 cases the week before in the area which includes the city of Kamloops as well as Sun Peaks, Chase, Barriere, Logan Lake and Savona.
While the outbreak at Royal Inland Hospital was declared over on Monday, Interior Health says two more people died there connected to the outbreak, taking the death toll to six people.
Between the week of Feb. 14 and Feb. 20, there were 12 new cases in the Merritt area, down from 26 the week before. There were 36 cases in the Central Okanagan which includes Kelowna (down from 69), along with nine cases in the Vernon area (down from 11) and eight cases in the Salmon Arm area (down from 14).
No new cases were reported last week in the North Thompson, 100 Mile House, Southern Cariboo, and Lillooet local health areas.
