I’ve always heard great things about Great Wolf Lodge and it was about time we checked it out as a family. I often find in our local FB mom group there are a lot of questions asked about tips and tricks when it comes to visiting. Here is what worked best for us!
For us the best option was a two night stay. You get access to the water park at 1pm the day you arrive even though check in is at 4pm. Show up wearing your swimwear or have a separate bag with everything you need for the water-park, should your room not be ready! You then have access to the resort till the end of day – on your last day so you can make the most of that day too. It’s basically 4 full days for a two night stay.
There are 3 different passes you can buy for different activities including the Magic Quest game. My boys are 4 & 8 so we went with the Paw Pass as it was the best fit for us and the things they wanted to do on site.
The water park is pretty amazing. It’s warm water, with a lot of slides for all ages and a wave pool. Our kids had a blast – so did we!
Another thing we loved was the arcade. It’s actually open 24 hours too!
Here are some other great things to know and tips if you plan to visit.
* Hotel access + room key are on wristbands which is awesome!
* Magic Quest wand game is fun my 8 year old loved it.
* The adult drinks are good but a pit pricey (you can also bring in your own beverages and a cooler as there are ice machines, you can also take your drinks anywhere on the resort
* There are a lot of food options on site, but for a bit of a change Burger Claim is next door and great option.
* We also stopped at a Target and Costco to pick up snacks/adult drinks for our room for easy access. This can help you save money as well.
* If you go during a busy time it’s good to line up for water park early (8:30) to get a table and chairs and lay towels down to claim them.
* There is also a Starbucks on-site which is awesome for all of us parents who run on coffee!
We had a great time and will definitely be going back soon!
