35 years ago this week David Bowie christened the brand new BC Place Stadium with its first concert. It was August 8th and 9th, 1983. Bowie was in Vancouver for the Serious Moonlight tour. At the height of his popularity, Bowie sold out the new 54,000 seat dome, not once, but twice. General admission tickets for the floor went for just 20-bucks. So in order to get a spot close to the stage, fans camped outside BC Place for two days. Still, workers for the American security firm hired for the show said they were amazed at how well behaved the crowd was. Both nights Bowie performed 24 songs. Number 19 on the list was Young Americans. Check it out in the video.
