It was a mystery that gripped our attention for three days last November. Luckily it had a happy ending. Now you can read all about Coquitlam dog walker Annette Poitras’s ordeal. How she fell and hurt herself walking three dogs one afternoon in the North Coquitlam woods. How her husband Marcel agonized and coped with her sudden and mysterious disappearance. And how friends, police, the community and the amazing volunteers who make up our local Search and Rescue teams worked together to find Annette and bring her home to her family. It’s all in the new book “Three-Dog Nights: The Search and Rescue of Annette Poitras” co-written by Anne Bruinn and Annette’s husband Marcel Poitras. It’s a good news story all around. And even better, part proceeds from the sale of book will be donated to Coquitlam Search and Rescue.
The book is now available through Amazon. The paperback is $9.99 and you can buy it here.
The kindle version is just $6.41 and you can buy it here.
It’s a good read and hits really home for me. I live in the area where Annette got lost and hike and bike the Eagle and Burke Mountain trails all the time. For anyone who enjoys our Metro Vancouver forests the book offers good insights and lessons. And the important job Search and Rescue crews do for us all the time. The fact is, they get called out pretty well every weekend, and remember, they don’t get paid. Buying the book will help support the great job they do.
