It’s been long rumored, and now Brain May of Queen says it WILL happen. A Freddie Mercury biopic movie is a go. May has told Rolling Stone Magazine “We’ve been 12 years on this trail, but I think we’re very close now to an announcement, which will signify that Fox has given the green light to actually supply the money. So yes, I think we’re very close.”
Initially “Borat’s” Sasha Baron Cohen had signed on to play the lead role. Now Freddie will be played by Mr. Robot star Rami Malek. May says “He has a great presence, and he’s utterly dedicated to the project, which is wonderful.” No word yet when production will actually begin, but hopefully we wil find out soon.
